Donna Marie Desai MS LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor)
No Matter What Issues You Face . . .
Therapy Is a Conversation
----
My therapeutic process taps into the client's unique inner resources: emotional, intel-lectual, and spiritual.
Receiving empathy and under-standing, the client is able to identify effective coping and problem solving strategies.
Therapy helps to develop new strengths to meet the demands of daily life and to face unexpected challenges with a sense of peace.
In addition to learning day-to-day coping skills, you (and all of us) are "designed" to continue developing throughout our lives. To become who we are, we need the courage to move from self-consciousness to self-awareness.
Taking time for self-inquiry with a compassionate counselor supports these values.

Psychotherapy is not mysterious: When you describe your situation and struggles to me, I know the right questions to ask. In other words, it's simply a conversation . . . with the goal of making you feel better.
Often my clients start by sharing only a small piece of what's going on with them. That's fine, because I know we are just beginning to develop trust. Over time, the client gradually shares more of his or her experience and discovers more of the compassion, clarity, and results that she or he is seeking.
This familiar, give-and-take process helps when you are tired of being stuck and ready to start feeling better. Often we find that the client's challenge is similar to what other clients have faced . . . and that there are a number of possible solutions.
The good news is, in almost every case the client can overcome his or her challenges--or learn to handle them much better.
Want some more good news?
Don’t expect to be "in counseling" forever. Changing your perspective and developing new strategies may require a little time. But once you take the first step--starting a conversation with a professional counselor--you’re off and running. For some clients, several sessions are all that’s needed.
Why not try a free, no-obligation 30-minute counseling session?
There's no cost or obligation do any further sessions. It's the best way for you to find out whether you will be comfortable with me. In this relaxed setting we can discuss what's on your mind and learn whether my services can help you.
