I became a counselor in order to help people . . . people like you.
Whether I am meeting individually with a client or leading a community-wellness event, the pattern is consistent: people want and need compassion, clarity, and results, no matter what issues they’re facing. So that's what I strive to provide.
My approach is to start with the thoughts and feelings you are having. They provide valuable information about the difficulties in your life. No two clients are alike, of course, but often the deeper issue is:

Donna Marie Desai, LCPC, holds a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Benedictine University and a Bachelors Degree in Education from Northwestern University.

Counseling Gifted Adults
Addressing the unique needs of gifted adults is one of my specialties. I understand how your differences are integral to your abilities, the positive personality traits associated with exceptional gifts, and the personal and societal obstacles to fully enjoying your talents.

I take great pleasure in teaching positive approaches to common emotional/behavioral problems. My presentations clarify these issues and provide strategies to help people cope with them.
